Call for Proposals – ISSAID 2029

The ISSAID Steering Committee invites ISSAID members to submit proposals to host the 2029 ISSAID Meeting. Members interested in hosting the meeting are invited to submit a formal proposal to the ISSAID Steering Committee no later than 31 January 2027.

Proposal requirements

Proposals should include the following:

• A letter expressing interest in hosting the ISSAID 2029 Meeting.

• The designation of a local host, who will act as Congress President and co-develop the scientific programme.

• The completed ISSAID bid questionnaire (Excel document).

• Relevant information about the proposed destination.

Organisation of the meeting

MCI Suisse SA is the official Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) appointed by ISSAID and will be responsible for the organisation and overall management of the 2029 Meeting. This includes venue contracting, preliminary hotel room bookings, financial management, registration, sponsorship and exhibition logistics, speaker logistics and abstract management.

Role of the local host

The local host will work closely with ISSAID and MCI Suisse SA and will be responsible for:

• Co-developing the scientific programme with the ISSAID Scientific Chair appointed by the Steering Committee.

• Organising the opening ceremony.

• Appointing abstract reviewers and participating in the review of submitted abstracts.

• Supporting fundraising efforts with local and regional sponsors.

• Proposing venues and entertainment options for the Speakers’ Dinner, ISSAID Networking Dinner and ISSAID Opening Ceremony.

The local host may seek support from the local convention bureau or proposed venue when preparing the bid.

Proposals submitted by convention bureaus, destination management companies or PCOs without the involvement of a scientific local host will not be considered.

If the proposed local host is not already an ISSAID member, they will be required to become a member.

Selection process

All proposals will be reviewed by MCI Suisse SA and the ISSAID Steering Committee between 1 February and 31 March 2027.

Depending on the number of proposals received, the Steering Committee may establish a shortlist of up to three local hosts/destinations for further consideration.

The final selection of the local host and destination will be announced to the ISSAID community during the ISSAID 2027 Meeting in Harrogate.
