Dr. Dan Kastner Award

ISSAID is excited to launch the new Dr. Dan Kastner Award and call all ISSAID young investigators to apply.

The award of € 5,000 aims at supporting a collaborative project between two independent institutions with the aim of acquiring or disseminating knowledge. Young investigators from all continents are warmly invited to submit their application before 5 March 2024.

DR. DAN KASTNER AWARD DESCRIPTION

The Dr. Dan Kastner Award aims at supporting a prospective collaborative effort between two institutions, either virtually or physically, in the field of autoinflammatory disease. The collaboration project may be clinical, basic or translational – with the goal of acquiring or disseminating knowledge and experience.

ISSAID warmly encourages young investigators from low-resources area to apply.

The award consists of a fixed amount of € 5,000 to be used either as seed funding or full funding of your project. The project may be co-funded by other sources (secured by applicants themselves).

 

TIMELINE:

  • Launch of application: 15 November 2023
  • Application deadline: 5 March 2024
  • Project completion: March 2025
  • Report to be presented at ISSAID 2025

 

CRITERIA:

  • Project must relate to the ISSAID mission
  • Applicants should be young investigators i.e. in their early career (within approximately 5 to 7 years* of the first academic appointment)
  • Application must be co-submitted by 2 individuals from independent institutions
  • Outcome of the project must be presented at the next ISSAID congress

*Exception may apply in case of compelling circumstances for gaps in your career.

 

APPLICATION FORMAT

Submission should include a one-page CV following the standardized template HERE. CVs of more than 1 page will not be accepted.

 

Applicants should summarize in 300 words:

  • The collaborative nature of the two sites
  • The description of the project and timeline
  • How this award will make a meaningful difference to their career / region
  • How applicants intend to use the money (final report to ISSAID)
